Solvents are liquids that dissolve other substances. Industry uses them to carry out chemical reactions, to make medicines, batteries and electronics, and to formulate products such as coatings, cosmetics and food flavourings. Our range runs from DMSO, used in pharmaceutical manufacturing and to protect cells when they are frozen, to propylene glycol, a low-toxicity carrier used in food and cosmetics, and NMP, the solvent used to make lithium-ion battery electrodes.
